Research abstract

The Phase II program will build on technical achievements of Phase I and extend the process to producing 2G filamentized wires optimized for targeted military applications. This is a complex undertaking due to the variety of military and commercial applications with different operating regimes and ac loss requirements. The proposed filament arrangement appears ideally suited for a fine filamentary approach, high ac field amplitudes, and high frequencies.
