Research abstract

HPSSN is, a high performance shipboard network which will address the need for both wireless and wired connectivity in a secure manner. The Components of the HPSSN developed for such a network are applicable not only to the special case of a shipboard environment, but the components of such a system could be utilized for military bases and commercial enterprises This Phase II Plan describes the implementation, prototyping, and demonstration of the HPSSN including the PCI-based security accelerator module, Secure chip design and tamper resistance , rapid key generation FPGA for seamless roaming. The Phase II Plan also reviews the algorithms and architecture that have been chosen for the HPSSN including the most promising encryption, authentication, hashing, and data compression algorithms, and the details of the plan for prototype development in Phase II. An Optional Hybrid Solution is also described..
