Research abstract

MORSE proposes Design for Yielding Neuromorphic Advanced Motion Imagery Capture (DYNAMIC), an integrated hardware and software solution to capture, process, and measure key parameters of propellant development experiments. DYNAMIC overcomes the cost, system complexity, and limitations of traditional high-speed cameras by using event cameras to capture high-speed, low-light footage with unparalleled temporal resolution and dynamic range. DYNAMIC supports a temporal resolution of <0.01ms for >0.5 seconds at ranges of 120dB. Leveraging AI/ML to fuse diverse sensor technologies to produce enhanced data, DYNAMIC autonomously detects issues and calculates solutions in real-time. Finally, DYNAMIC’s modular design enables the collection and storage of high-speed optical data over extended periods, allowing test playback through a user-friendly GUI and dashboard.
