Research abstract

This Small Business Innovation Research Phase I project will investigate the development of an all composite Type IV gaseous fuel storage module capable of delivering 20kg of usable hydrogen at 15% system weight efficiency for high altitude regenerative power supply. The successful development of an ultra-lightweight hydrogen storage system will represent a key enabling technology for future generations of high altitude airships (HAA) requiring sustainable high specific energy storage in extreme thermal environments between 60,000 and 70,000 feet.
