Research abstract

Ultra wideband (UWB) technology, well-known for its use in ground penetrating radar, has also been of considerable interest in communications and radar applications. With the development of wideband microwave components, UWB systems are attaining high levels of performance and economy. The need for compact wideband filters has become more apparent as spectrum crowding increases with the deployment of new systems. In this Phase II program, Dymas Research proposes to develop novel compact wideband RF filters at C and S band on the basis of novel design and high quality low-loss thick ferroelectric materials. In the Phase II program, we will develop filters using novel designs. It is expected that the ferroelectric materials and some novel designs to be studied in this program will be attractive for developing miniature filter with fully planar fabrication technology.
