Research abstract

The rapidly advancing cyber threat landscape within the DoD is significantly challenged by adversaries employing sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies to develop new attack vectors. Traditional detection systems often fall short against these complex threats, necessitating a shift towards more advanced, AI-driven security solutions. IntelliGenesis proposes KrakenAI, a generative AI (GAI) platform optimized for the DoD’s specific operational needs. KrakenAI integrates advanced capabilities like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and domain-specific model training to enhance real-time cybersecurity operations. This system is engineered to provide dynamic, context-specific responses to polymorphic threats, significantly enhancing the cybersecurity of crucial aviation and missile systems. KrakenAI distinguishes itself by automating the development and deployment of tailored AI models that effectively address and adapt to emerging threats. This agility ensures that both offensive and defensive cybersecurity teams have the tools needed to preemptively identify vulnerabilities and simulate adversarial tactics within controlled environments. The proposed SBIR Phase I effort aims to establish a scalable and secure foundation for system security engineering, targeting operational and prototype readiness for critical DoD infrastructure. With a strong emphasis on creating mission-ready, adaptable AI solutions, IntelliGenesis is poised to deliver a platform that not only meets current security demands but also evolves in response to an ever-changing threat landscape.
