Research abstract

MEMS technology has the potential to provide RF switching matrices of extremely compact size, low power, and improved reliability. The main challenge lies in improving the power handling of MEMS switches. MicroAssembly Technologies has demonstrated experimental switches at up to 3,200W. Currently, the company is developing a high-reliability switch, which may enable more immediate application at 50W or higher.
