Research abstract

QUASAR has developed a breakthrough free-space electric field sensing technology that enables prep-free, non-intrusive, and truly wearable monitoring of ECG signals. In this Phase II program, the technology will be advanced and tailored to one specific ECG monitoring or diagnostic application. A laboratory-based characterization of sensor performance under various controlled conditions will be conducted to determine performance limitations. Specific requirements necessary to address medical and patient needs will be defined. This information will be used in subsequent system design trade studies, optimization, and redesign. Side-by-side comparisons with conventional technologies under conditions specific to the intended use and indications for use will be conducted to permit informed risk decisions. The sensors will be examined for emission, safety, and regulatory compliance with ultimate testing in a limited clinical trial.
