Research abstract

Enhanced Image Compression (EIC) Device for Special Operations Forces (SOF) Reconnaissance Missions is a cleanly integrated small, lighweight package that provides state-of-the-art M-JPEG 2000 wavelet compression for image capture and transfer over tactical channels. The VIPMobile Image Controller ("VIC") - 200 software platform allows easy implementation of any compression over any hardware form factor, any tactical radio, and any camera. The VIC-200 software automatically captures and transmits the highest quality still or motion video in the shortest period of time based on operational factors, i.e. bandwidth constraints, resolution requirements, etc.
