Research abstract

Triton Systems, Inc. responds to Air Force need to develop low-cost, effective composite material to withstand Chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) exposure and decontamination without structural or functional degradation of tactical shelter. Triton's will develop a low cost process that will offer long-term protection and decontamination capabilities against the known CBR agents (such as VX, Sarin, virus and radioactive materials). The Triton's process will be non-toxic & environmentally friendly and easily adaptable for incorporation into various composite manufacturing techniques, It will also be easy to repair at the field maintenance level and will not shorten the composite material life span or degrade its performance. During phase I of proposed program, we will design or research existing materials, that will provide CBR protection and decontamination capability for composite shelter systems. Triton's proposed technology will be compatible with different types of composite manufacturing techniques.
