Research abstract

The main Phase I technical objective is to design a complete PDRE-based DACS suitable for a 1-kg MKV and define requirements for the auxiliary system components. The proposed PDRE-based DACS will have performance characteristics that meet and exceed the required 500 m/sec divert capability and will have low thruster-induced vibrations. We will also explore feasibility and payoffs of active vector control system that can be implemented for stabilizing a 1-kg MKV. Effects of propellant type and PDRE design on DACS components will be assessed.
