Research abstract

A thermal battery using a lithium-aluminum alloy as cathode and transition metal oxide cathode is proposed with a low melting ionic liquid as electrolyte. The proposed couple will be evaluated with alternative pyro heat sources. It is anticipated that the couple will have limited rechargeability and have specific power similar to state-of-the-art thermal batteries.
