Research abstract
Phase 2 develops an innovative approach for GPS antijam CRPA antennas using miniature spiral elements to form the array. The technique leverages experience with antijam technology and spiral antenna CRPA development. This combination of technologies and capabilities will result in a small, robust and innovative CRPA antijam solution for small platforms, difficult aircraft installations, helicopters, munitions, UAVs, et al. The effort will focus on the development of a proof-of-concept 7-element array composed of spiral elements. The project will concentrate on performance and feasibility of the solution using conventional materials at ambient temperatures. The goal of the program will be to meet GPS receive and CRPA performance objectives in a significantly reduced aperture that results in an adaptive antenna array capable of L1/L2 M-code bandwidth operation.
