Research abstract

During the Phase 1 effort, a detailed architectural design for an Intelligent Consequent Management System (ICMS) was created. This architecture serves as the basis for Phase II work. The architecture describes a Consequence Management (CM) network comprised of two basic types of nodes: Intelligent Servers (IS) and Thin-client Applications (TCA). IS nodes service a selected set of TCAs within a given LAN or sub-network, forming a Consequence Management Cluster (CMC). Each CMC functions as a simple client-server based network of computers. IS nodes have the duty of communicating with other IS nodes that are managing other CMCs (peer CMCs). The IS nodes intelligently and selectively replicate information of interest to their peer CMCs, forming a synchronized network of distributed information. ICMS capabilities include autonomous publication and subscription, designation of events and event types, and user-defined data and search categories, and content-base filters and communication triggers. The system provides robust, autonomous, encrypted messaging, topic searching, and information exchange.
