Research abstract

NON-TECHNICAL SUMMARY: Smith, Adams & Associates LLC, is collaborating with Michigan State University (MSU) in the technology development phase of the project and has secured Overby Farms as an SBIR Third-Party, Phase III Match Funder and Commercialization Partner for the commercialization of the expected successful SBIR Phase II results. This SBIR project will demonstrate the feasibility of various methods for successful establishment of native warm season grasses in the Great Lakes region for use as a viable fiber source in automotive biocomposites. The resulting biocomposites will replace fiberglass as a raw material in the compounding process for automotive applications.
