Research abstract
Objective is to develop the preliminary design and existing component modification required to integrate a 3-10 kw generator assembly using the newly patented new bold Turbo Rotary Powered Diesel Engine with a VSCF alternator that will have minimal 3 kw, 120 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 3 Phase power output up to 10 Kw, 120 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 3 phase output (depending ont he load requirement) in a lightweight composite housing. The generator would be fully equipped with electronic control and would be designed around basic TQG specifications including sound, ruggedization, environmental condition of operation, power quality, control requirements, and electrical interfaces. The engine being proposed, which is a cross between reciprocating and turbojet technology is air-cooled and will generate the necessary horsepower (up to 50 HP) to have 50/60 Hz at infinitely variable RPMs from 3000 RPMs up to and including 10,000 RPMs in conjunction with an air cooled VSCF alternater using permanent magnet hybrid Homopolar (PMHH) technology with an output of 10 Kw at a .8 power factor fully derated for 8000 feet altitude at 97 degree farenheit while running on JP-8 MIL STD 1332B Class 2B power quality in all kilowatt ranges would be provided. The proposed generator will weigh under 280 lbs dry weight.
