AN INNOVATIVE MOUSEFEEDER HAS BEEN DESIGNED BY LAMBERT ASSOCIATES TO ELIMINATE THE UNIVERSAL PROBLEMS OF SPILLAGE AND SOILAGE IN LABORATORY RESEARCH. PHASE I HAS TWO GOALS: (1) TO EMPIRICALLY EVALUATE THE LAMBERT ASSOCIATES FEEDER AGAINST SEVERAL PRESENTLY AVAILABLE COMMERCIAL FEEDERS, (2) TO DEVELOP PREPRODUCTION PROTOTYES IN STAINLESS STEEL AND INCLEAR PLASTIC FOR USE WITH BOTH POWDER AND PELLET DIETS. THE GOALS OF PHASE II ARE: (1) TO ASSESS THE MARKET AND DEVELOP A MARKETING PLAN, (2) TO EXPLORE THE POTENTIAL FOR LICENSING, (3) TO ASSESS THE POSSIBILITY OF ADAPTING THE DESIGN FOR OTHER RODENT AND SMALL ANIMAL POPULATIONS.
