Research abstract

Real-Time Innovations (RTI) proposes to develop a user friendly, multi-platform data monitoring tool capable of capturing and displaying data in real-time. This generic data monitor, an extension of RTI's StethoScope tool, will be able to collect anddisplay data on multiple host/target platform configurations. This tool will greatly assist the GWEF in their HIL testing efforts, with a potential for tremendous savings in the time required for setup and analysis. This SBIR Phase I effort willculminate in a proof-of-concept design usable on several typical computing platforms. At the conclusion of the SBIR, we will be able to demonstrate a turnaround time for monitoring and collecting test data between successive weapons test runs of oneminute or less. This achievement is expected to save several man months of programming and development for each weapons test setup. We expect that this result can be replicated at numerous laboratories across DoD. The cost savings at the GWEF alone could justify theresearch effort as envisioned. We expect this common data monitoring and collection tool to shorten the overall training time and increase the base of possible users. Little time and essentially no additional training would be required to transition from project to project. Inaddition, the tool will be flexible enough for advanced use by trained engineers and also basic
