Research abstract

FIELD EXPERIENCE AND PRELIMINARY LABORATORY DATA WERE MARSHALLED TO SHOW THAT THE TECHNIQUES OF THERMOELECTRIC SORTING COULD BECOME A VALUABLE TOOL IN THE ASSESSMENT OF PRECIPITATION-HARDENING STAINLESS STEELS. THE PROPOSED INVESTIGATION IS STRAIGHT-FORWARD AND INVOLVES HEAT TREATINGA VARIETY OF CAREFULLY CONTROLLED SPECIMENS AND THEN INVESTIGATING THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THEIR THERMOELECTRIC CHARACTERISTICS AND HEAT TREATING VARIABLES.
