Research abstract

A SIMPLIFIED RECONNAISSANCE-TYPE TEST IS PROPOSED THAT UTILIZES THE TECHNIQUES OF TRACER GAS VENTILATION TESTING TO QUANTIFY THE UNFILTERED AIR INLEAKAGE INTO AN OPERATING NUCLEAR POWER PLANT CONTROL ROOM. THE TEST WILL BE DEVELOPED TO ENCOMPASS THE FIVE BASIC TYPES OF CONTROL ROOM EMERGENCY VENTILATION SYSTEMS. A THOROUGH ERROR ANALYSIS WILL ALSO BE UNDERTAKEN. A DETAILED TESTING PROTOCOL SUITABLE FOR USE BY RESPONSIBLE PLANT PERSONNEL, OUTSIDE SERVICE CONTTRACTORS, AND NRC STAFF WILL BE GENERATED.
