Research abstract

The work for Phase I will have two primary focuses: 1)data acquisition and analysis and 2) neural network design and prototype. The first area of this research will be to analyze existing data to determine the computational needs of the neural network. The data will also be analyzed to determine the standard ranges of the physiological sensor data and how the ranges of the data affect the classification of the patient. The second focus of this research will be to prototype a neural network capable of classifying a patient's need for medical attention. The system will accept physiological sensor input data and classify a patient as RED, AMBER, OR GREEN depending upon the seriousness of the injuries and will also estimate the number of minutes the patient can survive without medical attention. The neural network will perform this function in under 15 seconds.
