Research abstract

MFS technology has been in development for several years and continues to find potential applications in a variety of flight systems. Programs that could utilize this technology include THAAD, PAC-3, SBIRs LOW and ABL. MFS circuitry paves the way for advanced design and fabrication techniques that incorporate flex circuit cable harnesses for interconnects that provide custom pre-formed shapes, lay-flat harnessing, economical mass-produced hardware, tailored shielding and fault detection. MFS circuitry can also embed passive or active components and sensors for distributed applications. Even launch vehicle raceway cabling such as the Delta IV EELV can be realized in envisioned flex harness systems.
