Research abstract

Physical Optics Corporation (POC), Applied Technology (AT) Division, proposes to develop a unique multispectral imaging sensor (MSIS) system. POC's approach is to reduce the functional units of a conventional scanning spectrometer to microscopic size. The resulting system will be very compact, low-volgate, high resolution (6) of the dispersed light using a fast switching LC phase modulator array. Because of their compactness, several such sensor modules for different (broad) spectral bands can be integrated, providing scanning over a full wavelength range (visible - to IR).
