Research abstract

A METHODOLOGY IS PRESENTED WHICH WILL ESTABLISH THE FEASIBILITY OF DISPERSING PARTICULATE REINFORCEMENT IN ALUMINUM MATRICES TO FORM COMPOSITE MATERIAL. THE METHOD TO BE EMPLOYED IS UNIQUE IN THAT IT UTILIZES LIQUID ALUMINUM, RATHER THAN POWDER METALLURGY DISPERSAL TECHNIQUES, AND IS THUS POTENTIALLY MUCH MORE ECONOMICAL THAN CURRENT METHODS. EVALUTION OF COMPOSISTES PRODUCED BY THIS METHOD WILL UNDERTAKEN AS A GUIDE TO FUTURE DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS IN THIS AREA.
