Research abstract

THIS PROGRAM WILL INVESTIGATE THE GENERATION OF CORROSION RESISTANCE COATINGS BY A PLASMA ENHANCED CVD (PECVD) ROUTE, HOWEVER, FROM NONCONVENTIONAL PECVD MATERIALS. THE COATINGS COMPOSITION WILL BE CERAMIC-LIKE WITH GOOD CHEMICAL RESISTANCE AND ADHESION. THE MATERIALS ARE INTENDED FOR USE AS THIN COATINGS AND THEREFORE ARE DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THERMAL STRESSING. TEST PROCEDURES WILL BE APPLIED FOR CORROSION RESISTANCE, ADHESION, AND HARDNESS, AS WELL AS DETAILED MICROSCOPIC AND CHEMICAL ANALYSIS.
