Research abstract

Bonn Corporation (BONN) has chosen to concentrate on researching a methodology that computes target movement prediction in real-time based on data fusion, data correlation, and learning algorithms, with the inhernt capability to accomodate user-definable inputs. BONN Will determine the required static (e.g., operational limitations and capabilities) and dynamic (e.g., weather and orders of battle) factors of enemy unit movement. Data fusion and data correlation algorithms will be evaluated to determine the best tecnique or combinations of techniques that accourately model the static and dynamic states of the targets. BONN engineers believe that a learning technology, such as genetic algorithms, or a combination of more than one technology, such as neural netsand fuzzy logic will best satisfy the constraints of this problem. The target movement analysis, target movement prediction and related soft computing technology information can be used to form a representative, conceptual architecture for the Learning Algorithm Movement Predictor (LAMP) Module. BONN believes that a combination of practical and operational experience with careful knowledge engineering can establish the true nature of the problem and offer useful solutions.
