Research abstract
Not Available Sensor technology is developing to meet the demands of remote sensing, particularly hyperspectral imaging. Remote sensing as applied to object surveillance, detection discrimination, identification or other signature imaging requires spectroradiometric calibration of the sensors. AZ Technology proposes to develop a transportable standard calibration source for the spectral range 0.5 to 1.5 microns with sufficient spectral resolution to support at least 100 bands. In Phase I a survey of radiometric test chambers will be conducted and the feasibility of construction a system around an innovative diffuser design will be evaluated. This will prepare for the constructing of the prototype in Phase II. The source design will support calibration of State-of-the-art sensors capable of detecting spectral radiance 10^-10 Watts/cm^2-sr-micron.
