Research abstract
The efforts to provide biocompatible hemodialysis are hampered by endotoxins present during hemodiawill develop high-flow hemodialysis accessory device to produce sterile, endotoxin free water and disignificantly affecting the cost of dialysis. This new approach is based on sterile filtration combibetween the endotoxin and a ligand covalently immobilized to a high flow chromatography resin. The mplace to insert the endotoxin removing column is before the dialyses on the dialysis equipment and/owater line right before it branches into the dialyzer rinsing manifold and the reuse equipment. Aftestudies a prototype system will be developed along with an automated column regeneration equipment.tested at dialysis clinics. A randomized, double blind clinical trial will be initiated.
