Research abstract

The goal of the Phase II project is to develop, demonstrate, and deliver a wideband antenna that provides operation ranging from 30 MHz to 6 GHz, while preserving small geometrical size and enabling a window application. Toward this end, the Phase IIproject will develop a set of electromagentic models to modify the performance of electrically small antennas of the log periodic shape, identified under Phase I. The proposed transparent conformal fractal-type antennas are distinguished not only by theirhigh-gain and multiple broadband capabilities but also can be made much smaller in size than convential antennas. Industries that can be served by this technology include automotive, satellite television, and GPS services, to name only a few.
