This proposal presents Juarez and Associates' approach to providing teachers from preschool through elementary school with multimedia materials regarding the twenty-five cultural groups most likely to be found in American classrooms today. CLASP will consist of videos, printed materials and/or CD-ROM disks which contain information pertaining to each cultural groups' language, literature, national heroes, parenting and health practices, cultural values, and bibliographic/ community resources as well as learning activities designed to further teacher/ student knowledge and understanding of specific cultural groups. The objectives include: identifying the content for CLASP; developing the CLASP resource kit/curriculum; insuring the involvement and collaboration of community representatives, parents, teachers and administrators in CLASP's development; determining the most appropriate service delivery system by cost of production, price to consumer and means of distribution; and developing prototype multicultural materials for multimedia use in the classroom especially CD-ROM materials.
