Research abstract

Genex Technology, Inc (GENEX) has successfully completed a six-month Phase 1 SBIR effort to develop 360-degree panoramic infrared (IR) optical sensor technologies for the missile seekers. This program is sponsored by Ballistic Missile Defense Organization(BMDO) and managed by U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD China Lake). The wide angle viewing capability is useful as augmented functionality for existing missile sensor for error correction, trajectory recovery, and wide field targetdetection and tracking. The proposed system would be structurally simple, compact, lightweight, and low-cost. Furthermore, unlike some other panoramic optical designs, the proposed OmniSeeker could offer high quality images due to its unique
