Research abstract

Sub-beamwidth resolution technique achieving active target imaging for final aim-point selection at 94 GHz is proposed for smart munition sensor applications. Based on focal plane array concept and with sub-beamwidth resolution software development, our proposed innovative approach combining with a high range resolution FMCW waveform sensor hardware already developed by CHANG is expected to greatly enhance the seeker technology achieving target discrimination and aimpoint selection accuracy never been achieved before. The active imaging can be combined with a passive imaging with sub-beamwidth resolution capability already proven feasible by CHANG. Civilian applications of the technology will be identified and initiated for our potential sensor product line.
