Research abstract
Not Available Data Fusion Corporation (DFC) proposes the development of an Information Assurance Protocol (TAP) layer for communication among the nodes of a network of Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS). This protocol will incorporate the following features: Encryption, Detection of physical tampering with nodes. Moreover, this protocol will be compatible with spread-spectrum communications for covert communications and efficient exploitation of bandwidth constraints. Phase I will involve the feasibility demonstration, via simulation, of the major IAP features. Phase II will involve the complete software implementation of the IAP algorithms and it's hosting on special-purpose hardware. BENEFITS: DFC plans to create a commercial product for validating software ownership. This product will involve a so-called hardware dongle which must be inserted into a port on a user's computer. A dongle is a hardware key, which typically self-destructs when attempts are made to physically open it. Creating such dongles has become technologically feasible.
