Research abstract

SDL Inc. proposes to develop compact and rugged blue laser sources emitting single-spatial mode output in excess of 20 mW cw at 480 nm operation. The blue light source is based on SDL's expertise in hihg power single mode diode lasers and frequency conversion processes. The proposed laser source is scalable to much higher power levels and other wavelengths. The resulting blue or green fiber laser will have low power consumption, light weight, small size, and rugged packaging, making them suitable for a large variety of applications,
