Research abstract
The purpose of this research is to prove the feasibility of a novel device and software, which willpatients to evaluate and predict the degree of metabolic control they achieved, and to perform minorand exercise regiments, before an out-of-control condition occurs. Phase I, concept validation, willpersonal computer and specifically developed software, in conjunction with a commercially availablePreliminary animal testing will be used. Phase II will consist of expanding the validation to humanexpanding the software design, and developing a commercial device capable of plugging into and downlblood glucose monitor, as well as receiving information from the user, on the food and insulin intakdevice will have the capability to communicate to the user the expected glycemic index at several tiequipment will have the capability of determining the patient-specific parameters of the model. Theclosely with diabetes experts in order to design a device which will be likely to achieve a satisfaccompliance.
