Research abstract

Existing PTC electronic components such as those used in degauss circuits are unsatisfactory for high power, high frequency, and small foot print requirements. These technology limitations can be addressed with components prepared from proprietary band-gap engineered materials. Nanomaterials Research Corporation (NRC), during Phase I, seeks to establish the proof-of-concept of commercially useful, band-gap engineered PTC components. Phase II effort will seek to optimize and produce prototypes in 1000s. Phase III will commercialize the technology.
