Research abstract

Mathtech will convert our Advanced Inter Communications System from an Ethernet bus to a Fibre Channel bus. The Fibre Channel interface will optionally run off of switched fabric or arbitrated loop protocols. We will develop unique software required forthe interface to multiple Fibre Channel protocols and to ICS data traffic, and to control the dual redundant red and black bus interfaces.BENEFITS: Avionics of the future are increasingly linked to fiber backbones in military aircraft. The ICS resultingfrom this development will be compatible with the Fibre Channel protocols for fiber optics as well as with the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) radio messaging protocols.
