Research abstract
Sequential structures are incapable of addressiug tbe visualization fidelity requirements for future generations of virtual environment simulators used for training purposes. Flight simulators for military and commercial domains require accurate and realistic rendering of atmospheric phenomena. Sensor data must be fused and correlated to create consistent tactical information for realistic situation awareness. The scalable concurrent visualization system is a resource-contentionless distributed memory parallel processor designed for image generation. Each node possesses a cpu, graphics processor, framebuffer, and display device. The image outputs are tessellated into a common display surface that is coherently updated in real-time. The scalable architecture embodies an object-oriented, I/O application framework. This reusable framework is designed and simulated via a logically concurrent process structure.
