Research abstract

The xpatch code suite, today combines a highly regarded high-frequency RCS prediction code with several visualization tools and a host of CAD editing and conversion programs. Currently, ideal conditions are always assumed by xpatch. In reality, sensor characteristics and atmospheric effects play a part in the appearance of a collected signature. In this proposal, we outline a course for extending the signature evaluation capability of xpatch. The goal of the project is to provide a "what-if" capability to the operator, regarding questions of conditions present during the collection of the data. The appearance of an image would be changed by processing the xpatch synthetic data in a manner which tries to reproduce those conditions specified.
