Research abstract
The Air Force seeks advanced communications techniques that will transport streaming real time telemetry data in Internet Protocol (IP) packets across multiple heterogeneous types networks. This SBIR topic presents an opportunity to explore and developsignificant technology for high-speed network access devices. Our Proposal combines the following objectives: 1) Significantly reduces cost and extends usable life by utilizing common COTS technology. 2) Provide the most effective solution to therequirements of bandwidth, quality of service, Latency deviation, and time correlation by means of Efficient HW/SW design and protocols implementation. 3) Provide scalability and upgrade path. Our unique approach, based on parallel processing, will resultin high throughput and considerable savings. The results of this SBIR effort are expected to be widely applicable to both military and commercial markets. Potential commercial applications will include transporting real time high-speed voice video anddata across the Internet, Distance Learning,Communication protocol converters, and Packet-based audio video conferencing.
