Research abstract
The Sunrise project will provide a multi-image film recorder (camera) for use with diagnosticultrasound machines in small radiology departments, using innovative technology to increase efficiencyof ultrasound examinations, provide new operational features, produce films of superior image quality, and provide the capability of making economical and high quality films of color or black-&-white imagesfrom the same camera. In a stand-alone camera intended for dedicated use with a single ultrasoundmachine, the Sunrise camera will provide features otherwise furnished only by centralized film recordersystems which cannot be justified in small radiology departments with low patient load. The narrowerobjective of the Sunrise project is to explore the areas which have the highest technical risk which willdetermine whether the longer term project is feasible.
