Research abstract

The development of an instrument for continuously monitoring SO2 levels in fluegas is proposed. The SO2 will be detected by means of an electrochemical sensorcell, which operates in a three-electrode potentiostatic mode. The proposedinnovation is develop-ment of an advance sensor cell which uses a high-temperature solid polymer eleobjectives of the proposed program are 1) identification of potentiostatic methodoperating conditions for the detection of SO2, 2) design and fabrication of abreadboard sensor and 3) performance testing of the breadboard sensor.
