Research abstract
"Deliver a methodology or system architectural model of secure broadband wirelesstechnology, capable as a stand-alone medium or interconnected to existingnetworks. This is a multi-layer security, network system concept with robustfeatures of short (less than 300 feet) to long (greater than 2 miles) rangecommunications under civil and austere conditions. This methodology or systemmodel is scalable and intended to be integrated with existing commercialproducts that may require some re-engineering or innovative technology tosatisfy security requirements. Parts, or all of the proposed system and model, could feasibly attain NSA Type-Isecurity compliance and certification to benefit the Missile Defense Agency andgovernment communities' WAN applications and other military purposes. CTG mayobtain private companies to sponsor and develop this prototype system forcommercialized applications. For example, the wireless technology architecturecan be implemented in rural areas or rocky mountain areas where it is too costlyto lay fiber networks."
