Research abstract

VEXCEL CORP. PROPOSES A WORKSTATION THAT IS SPECIFICALLY ORIENTED TOWARD NETWORKING WITH THE PROPOSED E0S INFORMATIONSYSTEM OR SIMILAR OBSERVATION SYSTEMS, AND WHICH PROVIDES MANY OF THE IMAGE PROCESSING FUNCTIONS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO A TYPICAL SCIENTIFIC USER OF THIS TYPE OF REMOTELY SENSED DATA. ACHIEVING TWO TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES SHALL DETERMINE THE FEASIBILITY OF AN E0S-ORIENTED WORKSTATION AND PRODUCE A CONCEPT DESIGN: (1) FORMULATION OF APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS AND (2) ESTABLISHMENT OF TECHNOLOGICAL REALISM. BY PROVIDING TECHNOLOGICALLY REALISTIC REQUIREMENTS, THE PHASE I EFFORT WILL CREATE A CONCEPT DESIGN WHICH WILL PROVIDE THE FOUNDATION FOR THE PHASE II DEVELOPMENT OF A PROTOTYPE E0S WORKSTATION.
