Research abstract

Mission Research Corporation (MRC) proposes an effort culminating in a full three-dimensional Finite Difference-Time Domain (FDTD) analysis capability specifically deigned for very short pulse, high intensity Radio Frequency (RF) signals which are allowed to propagate through typical building materials. The main application of this effort is in developing smart weapon fuzes or for stand-off reconnaissance prior to weapon fuzing and launch. Phase I of this effort will concentrate on developing a two-dimensional demonstration and on identifying required FDTD developments for Phase II implementation. MRC will consider the need for: non-linear, dispersive, inhomogeneous or isotropic material simulation.
