Research abstract

This Phase II SBIR program will develop the means for detection at a distance of hydrazine and nerve agents by space surveillance or other remote sensing. This will be accomplished through the fabrication of a luminescent sensor material that, uponexposure to these agents, can be photo-activated to emit light. This activation can be initiated by a user located at a safe distance from hazardous substances and allow the evaluation of the hazard without risk. The luminescent sensor material will beprepared in a form that will allow its ready distribution and application over large areas.
