Research abstract

THE RESEARCH FOR AN ALTERNATE MEANS TO CRT TECHNOLOGY OF GENERATING VISUAL DISPLAY HAS BEEN UNDERWAY FOR YEARS. THE PROGRAM PROPOSED WILL DEFINE A METHOD OF PRODUCING A "CRT" TYPE OF VISUAL DISPLAY USING A LASER SCANNING CONCEPT PREVIOUSLY BASED ON WORK AT APA OPTICS, INC. THE PREVIOUS WORK DEFINED A METHOD OF GENERATING A NONMOVING PART SINGLE AXIS LASER SCAN GENERATOR. THIS PROGRAM WILL INVESTIGATE A DEFINED CONCEPT FOR INTRODUCING THE SECOND AXIS CONTROL AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUFFICIENT RESOLUTION IN THE BEAM TO PRODUCE A HIGH FIDELITY IMAGING SYSTEM. TECHNOLOGY ISSUES AND A KEY TECHNOLOGY FABRICATION AND TEST PROGRAM HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED. THIS PROGRAM IS A UNIQUE ELEMENT IN A PROGRAM OF INTEGRATED OPTICS DEVELOP-MENT UNDERWAY AT APA OPTICS WHICH SEEKS TO APPLY A LASER SCANNING CONCEPT BASED UPON A BRAGG DIFFRACTION APPLICATION.
