Research abstract

THIS STUDY WILL EXAMINE THE FEASIBILITY AND PRACTICALITY OF UTILIZING CHARCOAL CLOTH IN A LIGHT-WEIGHT SOLAR POWERED DISTILLATION PURIFICATION DEVICE INCORPORATING CHARCOAL CLOTH AS THE ENERGY ABSORBENT WATER WICK. IN THIS PROPOSED DEVICE, IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE CHARCOAL CLOTH WILL ACT NOT ONLY AS THE DISTILLATION MEDIA, BUT WILL ALSO REMOVE OBJECTIONABLE ODORS, CO-DISTILLABLE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS AND BACTERIA/BACTERIAL SPORES FROM THE NON-POTABLE FEED WATERS.
