Research abstract

An Aviation Goggle Mount (AGM) that offers Aviators improved rigidity, torque reduction, durability, and clearance within the cockpit while also maintaining interoperability across multiple helmets and ANVIS goggle systems is required. Goggle instability and torque are recognized sources of acute and chronic neck injury. A solution that reduces torque on the aviators neck and offers a powered rigid connection to the helmet while also providing break-away crash protection is required. Existing technologies do not offer a durable or holistic solution that meets the requirements of this effort. Research is required to sufficiently mitigate these risks to the aviator while maintaining a familiar user experience.
