Research abstract
This research will define, experimentally validate, and produce a preliminary design for some innovative, Practical AECM (Air-to-Air Electronic Countermeasures Assessment Model) Capability Enhancements (PACE) for electronic protection assessment. The proposed techniques include an innovative means to manage antenna pattern and monopulse tracking error function effects, an efficient simulation output organizer, and an enhanced user-interface approach, all of which will significantly improve the effectiveness and utility of the AECM for both government and commercial applications. The Phase I objectives are to (1) assess and define a solution for the monopulse tracking problem, (2) assess and define a solution for output data management, (3) specify and define an improved user's guide and on-line support, and (4) establish the commercialization approach. Through this effort, AECM will obtain the ability to properly and accurately simulate the monopulse tracking function at the level of precision necessary for effective electronic protection assessments. AECM will also become a much more effective tool through enhanced output data organization and user interfacing. The Phase I products will be the resulting designs, definitions, and commercialization plan, based upon experimental and analytical investigations, to form the basis for Phase II implementation.
